SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Doug Pettit, a Hancock County native, recently was recognized as a “San Diego Super Lawyer” for 2008. Super Lawyers identifies the outstanding attorneys in more than 60 practice areas; only those who have attained the highest degree of peer recognition and professional achievement are selected. To ensure an independent assessment of the Super Lawyers selection process, research for the list is conducted by Global Strategy Group (GSG), a leading market research and consulting firms. More than 800,000 lawyers nationwide were invited to nominate the best attorneys they have personally observed in action. The nominees were evaluated by GSG considering 12 indicators such as settlements, experience, honors, education, community service and outstanding achievement. Only five percent of these top attorneys made it to the final list in San Diego.
