Thompson Avenue fire
Jerry Miller, a resident along the 500 block of Sugar Street in downtown East Liverpool, uses a garden hose to protect his home and his neighbor’s residence while the East Liverpool Fire Department's second alarm crew arrived on the scene shortly after midnight. The fire took place at a Thompson Avenue home, where initial firefighters set up to battle the blaze. The home was said to be vacant, but several neighbors indicated squatters may have been living there in recent weeks. No further information was immediately available. (Photo by Michael D. McElwain)
