AFC North, Part One
The AFC North has had little in the way of competition the past few seasons. Save for the Cleveland Browns’ surprise 10-6 finish in 2007 and the Baltimore Ravens 13-3 run in 2006, the Pittsburgh Steelers have had their thumb on the division for what seems like years. And the Steelers run as the team to beat looks primed to continue in 2009. Fresh off a Super Bowl victory and with the majority of the team back, Pittsburgh is the favorite to take the North and maybe a second consecutive championship. But, nothing is certain in the NFL. There’s a surprise lurking around every corner and the AFC North always seems to have a one-year wonder that attempts to dethrone the Steelers. As training camps get underway, and the start of the season inches ever closer, here’s how the AFC North is shaping up for 2009. First up are the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns.
