April Barfield, 18, Monroe Street, Salem, was sentenced to one day in the county jail and was fined $250 for theft. Barfield tried to take $89 in merchandise from the Salem Wal-Mart without paying. Donald Bishop Jr., 32, Warren, was fined $50 for theft. Bishop purchased $58 worth of flowers at the Shaker Woods Festival using a dishonored credit card. Travis Jeffery, 30, Saltwell Road, was assessed costs only for theft. Jeffery took $10 from a woman’s wallet, which was in her bedroom, and used it to buy a Penthouse magazine. Kerry Franzen, 47, East State Street, Salem, was fined $300 for criminal trespassing and resisting arrest.
