Betty Jane Wickham, 75

NEW CUMBERLAND — Betty Jane Wickham, 75, of New Cumberland, passed away Friday, May 9, 2008, at Trinity East; Steubenville, with her loving family by her side.

She was born Sept. 22, 1932, in New Cumberland, a daughter of the late Harold D. and Cecile (Taylor) Jacobs. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Pamela Sue Boyles (2004) and her son-in-law Amy James Boyles (2002).

Betty was co-owner of Wick’s Restaurant in New Cumberland; previous owner of B & J Ceramics, was crowned Brickyard Bend Festival Queen in 2001 and was a member of the New Cumberland Christian Church.

Surviving are her husband, Virgil E. Wickham, Sr.; a son, Virgil E. (Ellen) Wickham, Jr., New Cumberland; one daughter and her companion, Twila Burskey and Mike “Chang” Chambers, New Cumberland; one sister, Marsha (Bob) Mariano, Davenport, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Sunday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Turley Funeral Home.

Services will be there at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 13,2 008, with Minister Rick Tinsky officiating. Burial will follow in the New Cumberland Cemetery.
