CAR THROUGH FENCE

April 17, 2012
The Review
This vehicle, driven by Preston English, 19, Midland, Pa., crashed on West Eighth Street in East Liverpool Monday after it passed a radar checkpoint on state Route 7. According to city police, a trooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol had clocked the vehicle at an unknown speed on radar but was unable to catch it as it continued north into the city. When the trooper caught up to the vehicle, it had already gone through a fence and struck a tree. English was cited for no operator's license and failure to control. His passenger, whose identity was not known last night, was taken to the hospital for a minor leg injury, police reported. (Photo by Kate Everly)
