A Mahoning County woman received probation for selling drugs in Salem last year.
Marquaela Cousart, 24, of Campbell, was sentenced by Columbiana County Common Pleas Court Judge Scott Washam to three years probation after previously pleading guilty to selling cocaine for $140 from a Salem residence. She sold the drugs to an informant working with the county Drug Task Force.
In other court action, Jeffrey A. Carl, 55, Prospect Street, Salem, pleaded guilty as charged to growing marijuana in his home in April 2011. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 4.
John W. McBride, 48, of Twinsburg, had his sentence reduced from nine months in the county jail to six months by Judge Washam to bring it within the sentencing guidelines. This is in addition to the two months in prison McBride must also serve on the felony drunken driving charge from Christmas 2011.
