Wellsville VFD reschedules chili cook off date
WELLSVILLE — The Wellsville Volunteer Chili Cook Off fundraiser, which was canceled on Nov. 2 due to firefighters from Wellsville VFD and multiple other stations being on the scene of a large brush fire, has been rescheduled for Nov. 17 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Wellsville Fire Station, 1200 Main St.
Wellsville volunteer firefighters are still issuing a challenge to all local firefighters, police, EMS and the public to bring out the chili and see if theirs has what it takes to be called the best.
As originally planned, the event will have the gun raffle and a 50/50 raffle trophies will be awarded for multiple categories.
There is no entry fee for participants. There is a $10 per person admission fee which includes chili samples and a chance to vote for your favorite chili.
Participants will need to bring their own chili, table and table directions. They can also bring drinks or desserts to sell to raise funds for their departments.
Any craft vendors that are interested in setting up at the event can contact the fire department and let them know. Vendor fee can be paid on the day of the cook off.
