MUNICIPAL COURT
LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, John Bartos III, 41, Boardman, a contractor in trouble before for theft charges related to taking money from clients and not finishing the work, was fined $250 and given a suspended 180-day jail term for misdemeanor theft, amended from fifth-degree felony theft. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and had already completed restitution. On Oct. 28, 2021, the victim gave Bartos, a contractor for Gridiron Windows and Doors LLC, $2,000 for a door he was supposed to install at her Wellsville home which he never did.
A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set June 24 for John Kolcun, 59, Warren, charged with third-degree felony tampering with evidence and misdemeanor illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly providing false information to aid in the commission of a crime by the driver who was trying to hide her identity during a traffic stop by giving a false name on June 14 in Columbiana. He allegedly went along with it and then she later became truthful. He also allegedly possessed a meth pipe which he tried to hide in his boot while at the police station.
A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set June 24 for Isaac Hickman, 19, Southeast Boulevard, Salem, charged with third-degree felony failure to comply (fleeing/eluding) and misdemeanors of underage consumption and menacing for allegedly taking off in his vehicle after police saw him in an altercation in Salem, almost striking the front of the police cruiser and leading officers on a pursuit, endangering the public with reckless driving on June 15. Once apprehended, he was found to be intoxicated and under the legal age. At the jail, he made threats and actions toward a Salem police officer, who then maced him.
A preliminary hearing was set June 24 for Robert Ross Jr., 35, South Street, Homeworth, charged with fifth-degree felony theft for allegedly removing 13 items valued at $3,598 from a Homeworth residence.
A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set June 24 for Earl Breese IV, 39, Warren, charged with third-degree felony failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, fifth-degree felony obstructing official business and misdemeanor driving under suspension. Breese fled from police during a traffic stop on June 16 in Perry Township
A preliminary hearing was set July 1 for Hayden Wright, 34, St. George Street, East Liverpool, charged with fifth-degree felony obstructing official business for failing to tell a state trooper who had been driving his vehicle when the vehicle was involved in a vehicle pursuit on Nov. 28, 2023 in Columbiana County.
A pretrial was set Aug. 20 for Caleb Collins, 18, East Sixth Street, Salem, charged for theft and criminal damaging for allegedly taking a girl’s Jordan shoes at the Centennial Park pool on June 15 in Salem.
A pretrial was set June 24 for Ashton Vanvorhis, 19, Foraker Street, Rogers, charged with domestic violence, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs first offense, OVI breath first offense and no valid license. Vanvorhis allegedly grabbed a woman around the throat and choked her during an alleged underage drinking party in Negley and then the fight continued in Rogers when he allegedly grabbed her hair and pulled a handful out on June 15.
A pretrial was set July 2 for David J. Johnson, 64, Sandy Springs Road, Minerva, charged with public indecency expose private parts for allegedly exposing his private parts during work hours over a few months in 2023 in Minerva, according to an affidavit based on a conversation with a victim on July 28, 2023,
A pretrial was set June 27 for Joseph McCallister, 43, Speidel Road, East Rochester, charged with domestic violence for allegedly attempting to hit a male juvenile and almost striking a female juvenile who’s pregnant on June 16 in East Liverpool.
Robert Morris Adkins, 62, Price Street, East Liverpool, was fined $200 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 152 days suspended and credit for 28 days suspended, for aggravated menacing. He was ordered to stay away from the victim. Adkins pulled out a loaded handgun and pointed it at the victim, asking for money owed to him on May 19 in East Liverpool.
Brenee Fisher, 34, Alliance, was fined $300 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 89 days suspended and credit for one day served for theft. Fisher was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and to pay restitution of $187.10 to the victim. Fisher was accused of using the victim’s Ohio EBT card without permission on Oct. 16, 2022 in Alliance.
A pretrial was set June 27 for Linda L. Weyand, 57, Chaffin Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with possessing criminal tools, failure to comply, illegal plates, driving under suspension, expired license, reckless operation and two counts theft. Weyand was accused of fleeing from police attempting a traffic stop on June 15 in East Liverpool. She was also accused of taking a box of diapers from Dollar General in East Liverpool on July 25, 2022, and of placing four items valued at $78 into a large purse and leaving Factory Connection in St. Clair Township on March 2, 2021
A pretrial was set Sept. 5 for Kevin May, 62, Fairfield School Road, Columbiana, charged with disorderly conduct and two counts of assault for allegedly striking a woman in the face and assaulting her and striking a man several times in the face, neck and body outside of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Leetonia on June 14. He was allegedly intoxicated at the time.
A pretrial was set July 9 for Ryan Armstrong, 39, Depot Road, Salem, charged with two counts disorderly conduct and a single count of open container in a public place for allegedly being intoxicated and having an open container at McCulloch Park in Salem on June 6 and being found stumbling down the road in Salem on June 14 and admitting to drinking.
An assault charge was dismissed against Devin Scranton, 33, East Main Street, East Palestine, after the alleged victim failed to appear. Scranton was accused of punching another man in the face during an argument on Aug. 25, 2023 in East Palestine.
Antonio Deleon, 30, Salem Alliance Road, Salem, was fined $150 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for disorderly conduct, amended from assault. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and to have no contact with the victim. While housed as an inmate in the Columbiana County Jail, Deleon was accused of assaulting another inmate by hyperextending his arm twice and not letting go.
A pretrial was set Sept. 12 for Darnnell A. Gibson, 37, Boardman, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity with a female in exchange for 1 gram of methamphetamine, arriving in East Palestine on June 14 for the meeting with the methamphetamine and the phone used to make the arrangements.
Daniel Charles White, 35, Olmsted Township, was fined $500 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for possessing criminal tools and disorderly conduct amended from engaging in prostitution. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and a prostitution prevention course. White was accused of responding to an undercover ad and arranging for sexual activity with a female in exchange for $300, traveling to East Palestine on March 28 for the meeting.
A pretrial was set Sept. 10 for Brandon Atley Williams, 28, Butler, Pa., charged with driving under suspension, engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity with females in exchange for $140, traveling to East Palestine on June 17 for the meeting.
Ku Doh, 29, Akron, was fined $750 for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools and was ordered to complete a prostitution education course. Doh was accused of requesting sexual conduct for an agreed upon price of $50 from an undercover agent, then driving to Salem on Dec. 28, 2023 for the meeting.
Derek Thompson, 29, Chester Avenue, Wellsville, was fined $1,000 and sentenced to 120 days in jail, with credit for 24 days served, leaving 96 days to serve, for domestic violence, criminal damaging, two counts theft, physical control, and probation violations for two counts of disorderly conduct from 2023, an assault charge from 2023, an assault charge from 2022, and a theft charge from 2022. Thompson was accused of punching a woman in the side of the head and punching a television on Jan. 13 in Wellsville, stealing $32 worth of items from East Liverpool Giant Eagle on April 15, grabbing items from the shelves of Dollar Tree in East Liverpool and putting them in his shorts and throwing a water bottle through a window in East Liverpool on May 29.
Grant Durley, 25, Anderson Avenue, Homeworth, was fined $100 for a miscellaneous wildlife charge for attaching a falsified game check number to a deer on Dec. 16, 2023 in Knox Township.
Shaun Delauder, 43, Y & O Road, Wellsville, was fined $850 and sentenced to five days in jail for failure to comply (fleeing/eluding), driving under suspension and no motorcycle helmet for fleeing from a traffic stop on a motorcycle on March 25 in Middleton Township.
A pretrial was set Aug. 27 for Nicholas Wolfe, 44, Eastlake Road, Lisbon, charged with illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a glass smoking device with suspected narcotics residue during a traffic stop on June 16 in Lisbon.
A status conference was set Sept.19 and a court trial was set Sept. 24 for Charlene Makowiecki, 59, Boring Lane, East Liverpool, charged with OVI second offense, OVI refusal with prior within 20 years and a stop sign violation.
A pretrial was set Sept. 5 for Marla Zema, 47, Main Street, Wellsville, charged with OVI first offense, driving under suspension and no seat belt.
A pretrial was set July 11 for John Lanam Jr., 43, Hibbetts Mill Road, Wellsville, charged with OVI first offense and use of unauthorized plate.
A pretrial was set July 8 for Joshua Pastore, 38, state Route 45, Lisbon, charged with two counts driving under suspension, and single counts of speeding, improper/expired registration and no motorcycle endorsement.
Shain Hostetter, 42, Sherman Street, Lisbon, failed to appear for a pretrial on Monday for driving under suspension and reasonable control.
A pretrial was set Sept. 10 for Rudi Leroy McClain, 59, Boardman, charged with improper/expired registration and traffic control devices.
A driving under suspension charge was dismissed against Alejandro Fred, 37, Youngstown since he’s his license is now valid.
Bridget McKinnon, 38, Dresden Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.
Martin Heater II, 45, Kings Court, Leetonia, was fined $150 for an equipment violation, amended from speeding.
Trina Jones, 25, Oak Street, Leetonia, was fined $100 for driving under suspension.
