Leetonia

— Dispatch advised that there was a suspicious male walking around at 9:21 a.m. Thursday in the first block of Chestnut Street, peeking in people’s windows. He was described to be wearing a black hat, long-sleeved blue shirt, blue jeans and a green backpack. A check of the area produced no contact.

— Police responded at 6:18 p.m. Tuesday to the 100 block of Spruce Street to investigate an open 911 line with children yelling in the background. Officers made contact with a male subject,who consented to a search of home so they could confirm no one else was present.

— An unidentified sideswiped a parked Jeep sometime before 12:30 p.m. Sept. 13 on Chestnut Street, where the woman was preparing to leave for work.

— A male Leetonia resident reported at 1 p.m. Sept. 13 in the first block of Main Street that his pickup had been struck overnight with damage sustained to the front fender and bumper. Cody Williams, his neighbor, had backed into the man’s truck while leaving for work, so he made arrangements to have the truck repaired.

— A reckless blue Chevy older model vehicle was reported eastbound at 6:24 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of state Route 344, doing burnouts in the roadway.

HIghway Patrol

— Brittany Toothman, of Brookfield Avenue in Lisbon, was cited at 1:45 p.m. Sept. 11 in Fairfield Township after striking a vehicle from behind while traveling northbound on state Route 164.

— Kenneth D. Kanoff, of Blairsville, Pa., was cited shortly after 2:26 p.m. Sept. 6 in Center Township on charge of failure to control, driving on a suspended license and hit-skip, after he crashed his vehicle while traveling northbound on County Home Road, going off the left side of the road, striking a ditch and Buckeye Water District-owned fire hydrant and fleeing on foot when his vehicle eventually became disabled.

— Tyler Witherstine, of West South Range Road in Salem, was cited at 2:18 a.m. Sept. 8 in Butler Township for failure to control, after he lost control his vehicle while eastbound on U.S. Route 62, drove off the north side of the road, striking a mailbox, utility pole and culvert.

Perry Township

— Officers responded to the 400 block of West Pidgeon Road at 9:15 p.m. Sept. 14 for a report of a man walking down the road. Officers found the man lying down in the yard of a residence and spoke with the homeowner who advised the man was her brother and was intoxicated and would be taking care of him for the rest of the night.

— Officers responded with Salem officers to the 1300 block of West State Street at 6:26 p.m. Sept. 14 for a reported man experiencing mental distress and threatening self-harm. Officers were able to locate the man and calm him down, and EMT transported the man to Aultman Community Hospital in Alliance.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of Hearthside Avenue at 5:57 p.m. Sept. 14 to assist Goshen Township officers with a hit and skip. Officers were unable to contact the man, but advised his mother to have him contact the Goshen Police District.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of Harding Avenue at 1:41 p.m. Sept. 14 for a reported neighbor dispute. Both parties were contacted and advised to contact the landlord and an attorney regarding the living arrangements.

— Officers spoke to a person by phone at 10:13 a.m. Sept. 9 who advised that they may have information about a crime that occurred in the township. The matter is under investigation.
