LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary hearing was set Nov. 21 for Dawson Mayfield, 19, Williams Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing two bags with an unknown white powder inside that tested positive for cocaine during a traffic stop on June 14 in East Liverpool.

A pretrial was set Nov. 7 for Preston Lamar English, Densmore Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with assault, obstructing official business, no valid license and a turn signal violation. English allegedly slapped a woman in the face during a verbal altercation, smashing her glasses into her face, causing injury on Oct. 1 in East Liverpool. On Nov. 2, after he was told to come out of a house in East Liverpool, he was found hiding in the bath tub in the residence.

Austin McElwain, 20, Liberty Street, Salem, was fined $500 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 150 days suspended and credit for 10 days served, leaving a balance of 20 days still to serve in jail for violating a protection order. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and to have no contact with the victim. McElwain was accused of calling a protected person on Oct. 2 in Salem when he was prohibited from calling her.

A pretrial was set Nov. 7 for Aaron Francis, 38, Lisbon Street, East Liverpool, charged with violation of a protection order, obstructing official business and criminal trespass for allegedly violating the terms of a protection order by being with a protected person while they were both allegedly attempting to get into vehicles in East Liverpool on Nov. 3. He was also accused of trespassing on an East Liverpool property and fleeing into the woods when police found him there on Oct. 31.

Michael Alan Langdon, 40, Oakdale, Pa., was fined $250 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for disorderly conduct amended from engaging in prostitution, with a charge of possessing criminal tools dismissed. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and an online prostitution prevention course. Langdon was accused of responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging to have sexual activity with a female in exchange for $80, traveling to East Palestine on July 3 for the meeting.

A pretrial was set Feb. 6 for Lon J. Lawrence, 48, Slippery Rock, Pa., charged with possessing criminal tools and engaging in prostitution for allegedly responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity with a female in exchange for $200, then traveling to East Palestine on Nov. 1 for the meeting.

Jennifer Paskali Sekerak, 42, Sleepy Hollow Drive, Leetonia, was fined $300 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for two counts of disorderly conduct, amended from menacing by stalking and telecommunications harassment. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Sekerak was accused of texting or sending messages via social media to a woman on her cell phone after being told to stop contacting her, along with allegedly sending naked pictures during the month of July, an affidavit said. On July 17, she allegedly drove by a Leetonia residence several times with her phone stuck out the window of her car filming a woman.

A pretrial was set Jan. 21 for Ashly Shawn Parson, 39, Pennsylvania Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with theft for allegedly failing to scan and pay for 97 items totaling $534 while employed at the Calcutta Walmart, selecting multiple items from multiple departments over several different days from Aug. 4 until her termination on Oct. 27.

A pretrial was set Jan. 13 for Ronald Boyer, 51, Wilson Street, Salineville, charged with disorderly conduct and physical control. Boyer was allegedly found slumped over and unresponsive behind the wheel of a vehicle at the Broadway Wharf in East Liverpool on Oct. 18, with suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia on the floor. He was administered Narcan after showing overdose symptoms.

A status conference was set Feb. 13 and a court trial was set Feb. 20 for Wilbert Faulk, 39, Church Street Extension, Salineville, charged with criminal mischief for allegedly slicing the tires on a vehicle and busting the driver side window on Feb. 24 in East Liverpool.

Selena Lopez, 19, West 16th Street, Salem, was fined $150 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 29 days suspended and credit for one day served, for disorderly conduct amended from domestic violence. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Lopez was accused of slapping and hitting a man in the arm and chest area during a domestic altercation on July 27 in Perry Township.

A pretrial was set Jan. 21 for Clifford Lake, 41, East Ninth Street, Salem, charged with failure to vacate unit for allegedly failing to leave a condemned home on East Ninth Street in Salem as of Oct. 25 after the structure was condemned by the Salem City Health Department in September.

A pretrial was set Feb. 4 for Jeremy Byerly, 49, Third Street, Wellsville, charged with operating a vehicle impaired first offense, OVI breath first offense, no seat belt and reasonable control.

A pretrial was set Nov. 19 for Luke Maola, 39, state Route 267, East Liverpool, charged with driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set Jan. 13 for William Priester, 65, Akron, charged with OVI first offense and reasonable control.

Racheal Schon, 40, Wilbert Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $50 for loud exhaust, with a charge of no valid license dismissed.

Saquella Coats Joe, 28, Youngstown, was fined $30 for following too close, with a charge of driving under suspension dismissed.

Grand Jury

LISBON — Sheldon Robinson, 50, Crestview Road, Columbiana, was served recently with two separate secret indictments issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury, with one for nonsupport of dependents, a fifth-degree felony and one for third-degree felony failure to comply with the order of signal of a police officer and misdemeanor driving under suspension for allegedly failing to pay child support for one child from June 7, 2020 to June 5, 2022 and for allegedly fleeing from police and driving under suspension on Jan. 30, 2022.
