Glenda A. Simms

EAST LIVERPOOL – Glenda A. Simms, 86, of East Liverpool, passed away Friday, April 11, 2025, at Pepperberry Suites in Chester.
Glenda was born on Nov. 10, 1938, in East Liverpool, a daughter of the late George L. and Effie (Unger) Simms. She was a graduate of East Liverpool High School Class of 1957. Glenda worked for Hall China, L & B, Crucible Steel and retired from J & L Steel in 2002. She was an avid bowler since 1962 bowling in several leagues the Ohio Women’s Bowling League and the East Liverpool Women’s Bowling Association. Glenda was the Ohio State Women’s Bowling Champion in 1963 at the age of 25 and was on Bowling for Dollars on WTAE back in the early 1970s. She was also very active in youth bowling leagues and Special Olympics. Glenda liked to golf, do yard work, plant flowers in her flower garden and collect carousels. Glenda was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. Glenda was a loving aunt who was extremely generous to her family.
Preceding Glenda in death were two brothers, Lawerance Simms and Lemoyne “Shorty” Simms, and six nephews, Barry, Joey, Bobby, Chucky, George, and Dennis Simms.
Left to cherish her memory are five nieces, Terri Bachusz and her husband Paul, Tammy Michel and her husband George, Cammy Snyder and her husband Dave, Patty Barnhart and her husband Don and Barbie North and her husband Bill; two nephews, Doug Simms and Glenn Simms; many-great-nieces and -nephews, great-great-nieces and -nephews and great-great great nieces and -nephews and her Pepperberry Suites family Stacy Warden, Belinda Dunlap and Janice Hoover just to name a few.
Friends may visit Monday, April 21, 2025, at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Pastor Larry Rose will conduct a funeral service on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Following the service the family will gather at the Northside Community Church for a time of fellowship.
